Q. What is the Eckerd HealthCare Discount Plan?
A. Eckerd HealthCare Discount Plan is a low-cost discount membership program that offers savings on health services such as prescriptions drugs and vision, hearing, podiatric and chiropractic care. These discounts are available from a nationwide network of over 40,000 providers.

Q. How do I get my Eckerd HealthCare Discount Plan discounts?
A. About two weeks after joining you will receive a membership kit containing your Eckerd HealthCare Discount Plan membership card, a list of providers in your area and a detailed description of the discounts available. Simply show your card at participating provider locations and your discount will be granted at the time you receive the products or services.

Q. What are the Eckerd HealthCare Discount Plan dental discounts?
A. Many dental care procedures are discounted. You will receive discounts of 15-50% off the national average price for preventive and diagnostic care and a minimum of 15% off the providers' regular fees for all other procedures.

Q. What are the Eckerd HealthCare Discount Plan pharmacy discounts?
A. Discounts are up to 30% off regular retail prices for most prescription drugs at any Eckerd store. Eckerd HealthCare Discount Plan members can also save on mail-order prescriptions through Express Pharmacy Services.

Q. What are the Eckerd HealthCare Discount Plan vision discounts?
A. Discounts off eye examinations, eyeglasses, even sunglasses are available from JCPenney Optical Centers on a fee schedule. Other providers offer discounts of up to 20% off exams, lenses, frames and contacts. These discounts are available through the network of independent vision care providers.

Q. Are contact lenses discounted?
A. The JCPenney Optical Centers and the private vision providers offer discounts of up to 20% off regular prices (excluding disposable contacts). You may also receive discounts from 45-75% off optical store prices on all kinds of contact lenses through LensDirect mail-order service.

A. Discounts of up to 20% are offered through a network of audiologists throughout the United States.

A. Discounts of up to 50% are offered through podiatric specialists with an average of 13 years' experience in providing quality foot care.

A. Discounts of up to 50% are offered through licensed chiropractors with an average of 10 years' chiropractic experience.

Q. Who is included in my household?
A. Members of your immediate family who live at your address are eligible to use the Eckerd HealthCare Discount Plan membership. The membership also covers any dependents of the member living away from home. However, only the member's name appears on the membership card.

Q. What if I'm traveling or moving and need to use one of the services?
A. Your Eckerd HealthCare Discount Plan membership is valid in most states. Call our toll-free Customer Service line at 1-800-527-5583 and we will be glad to supply you with provider names closest to your geographic area. Or, use our provider search using the ZIP code of the area you are visiting.

Q. Are the prices for each service the same at all dentists or do they vary from dentist to dentist?
A. For all preventive dentistry there is a fixed fee every plan dentist has agreed to use. You will receive this schedule with your kit. The fees reflected in the schedule will be subject to change from time to time. For all other procedures not included in the fee schedule, there is a minimum discount of 15% off the dentist's regular fees.

Q. Can I find out my discounted price from a dentist in advance?
A. Yes, you may contact the dentist, identify yourself as a Eckerd HealthCare Discount Plan member and request a price for a specific procedure.

Q. Do I have to wait until I get the Eckerd HealthCare Discount Plan card or can I get the discount now?
A. You will have to wait until you receive your membership card before obtaining the discounts. The provider will need certain information from the card.

A. We are always happy to issue another card/membership kit. Just call our toll-free Customer Service line at 1-800-527-5583 . (The card will be in the name of the member.)

A. Any member of your household may use your card. However, if you'd like a second card, just call our toll-free Customer Service line at 1-800-527-5583 . You will receive it within 10-14 days.

Q. Can Express Pharmacy Services fill a one-year supply of prescription medicine?
A. No, the maximum prescription quantity filled at one time is a 90-day supply.

Q. What if an Eckerd HealthCare Discount Plan provider won't accept my card?
A. Each provider in our system has a contract with their provider network. It is possible that the person you spoke with was not aware of this. If you call our toll-free Customer Service line at 1-800-527-5583 , we will be happy to contact the provider.
